Natural gas prices were nearly tripled last year. Do not raise the cost again. 13% is ridiculous!

Living in a North slope mountain community requires heat 9 months a year, with the price of natural gas increasing, we must burn more wood in our stoves. Which is less harmful for the environment?

The status quo method of constantly raising rates while the cost of living also increases but wages and economic means do not is an abject failure that needs and requires better governance, less corruption and graft, and wiser and more practical policies like tying rates to wage/economic growth. When improvements are needed above the regular maintenance level, bonds and other methods that don't affect residents' monthly income can be examined. But first, a third party auditor should thoroughly examine the management and procedures of utilities - they are underperforming and underserving the public, from websites and apps to customer service and basic technology meant to be efficient and productive.

The Gas bill is already over $200 a month. This is price gouging. Retirees like myself find it very difficult to manage these costs. Electricity bill is over $100, sewer bill is over $100 bimonthly, water is close to $100 bimonthly and then there is the trash bill. Come on folks this is outrageous.

Any rate increases are completely unacceptable. In 2023 I had to borrow money to pay for my gas and electric bill because the rates skyrocketed from previous years. How can you justify increasing rates again after gouging us in 2023? You are a big profitable business preying on individual consumers - you make too much money already and are just being greedy gouging everyday middle class and lower class citizens. STOP the greed and DO NOT RAISE RATES ANY MORE, they are already outrageous. I can not afford to keep living here if the rates continue to rise.

The proposal to have income-based electricity rates and unregulated infrastrucre projects endangers lives and burdens middle class families. Bill AB 205 allows electricity companies to bypass local committee hearings and meaningful discussion with the community as to the long term impact of this bill and future bills. Transparency with the community should be required and the public should be allow the opportunity to provide direct input. Hardworking middle class families should not have to pay "variable fees" to have their utilities turned on. Utility costs should depend on the amount you use, and not the income you make.

These gas prices are abhorred. Stop prices gouging us! You don't need these extreme increases in rates. You just want more money. Are you trying to start a revolution? because eventually that's what will happen.

IMO, these ridiculous rate increases are the result of democrats electing a senile old man who is incapable of making intelligent decisions.

My SoCal Gas bill has been outrageous. It was $700 one month and $600 another. I have 2 handicap people living with me. It's been a cold winter and I have to keep them warm. We can not afford more rate increases.

Socalgas profits are through the roof. They now want to increase their profits even more on the backs of their customers. And of course, there is no consumer benefit from the increase. The general public is already suffering from inflated food prices, high rents, inflated water bills, etc. I think it’s about time those SoCal Gas executives learn to live on their already outrageous profits. I cannot afford future price increases. Please do not approve an increase for So Cal Gas. Apr 01, 2023 12:19 pm

I can’t afford a gas increase! Prices are already absurd! Go talk to Newsome and Biden, they put us in this position, tell them to pay for it. I will be the next to leave CA or I should say PUSHED OUT! This is unacceptable!

There should be no permitted increase in gas service, particularly when prices tripled in the last few months. The gas company is making more than enough money and there is no merit for an increase in charges; in fact, the price of gas service should be capped so that people don't have to choose between keeping their home at a comfortable temperature and making their mortgage or rent payments.

The current rates are already criminal. Any further rate increases should be denied! They are just lining their pockets with our hard earned money. This is not right!
